Engineering & Project Services

The Engineering & Project Services Group ensures that guidelines, standards and regulations of the university and all regulatory bodies are met during design and construction of new and renovation projects.

A close relationship exists between the Group and both the Project Management Office and Design Development from the Planning Group.

Electrical Engineering coordinates or completes design of electrical systems on campus. Systems range from the main campus substation and medium voltage distribution, to building lighting and fire alarm systems.

Mechanical Engineering coordinates mechanical designs by outside consultants for all major construction projects which includes all systems for heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, fire suppression, sewer and water, and automatic controls. This group also completes in-house mechanical designs for smaller construction project, and inspects mechanical construction.

Architectural provides design assistance and overall architectural stewardship of campus assets.

The Group also provides technical support to the Operations and Maintenance Department of FMD.
