Snow Removal

The Grounds Department is responsible for ensuring snow is cleared from roads, walks and doorways on campus. The University's appointed snow removal contractor(s) will respond as necessary to clear the main campus thoroughfares, additional roads and/or parking lots, depending on the severity and duration of the snowfall. The Grounds Department is responsible for clearing the sidewalks, doorways, entrances and steps. Areas are cleared in order of priority as established by the University.

Depending on the depth of snowfall, but always the same day, crews will sand roads and major sidewalks. The crew will continue to sand and de-ice sidewalks and entrances on a daily basis, always in the known slippery areas and as needed in other areas.

Any treacherous conditions caused by snow, sleet, rain, high winds damage, etc., should be reported to the Work Control Centre. Call 966-4496 or email workcontrol.centre@usask.ca.
